Mark (Wēland)

Mark is the founder and chair of one of London’s largest weekly roleplaying communities, a passion project he started with Stephen and Jon over six years ago, and he’s been a GM for more than 40 years. He’s a dedicated fan of systems like D&D, and Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay (WFRP) though he went so far as to create his own “4.5e” version after finding WFRP 4e’s new rules lacking, determined to keep the rich content playable on his own terms. Mark also enjoys darker, narrative-driven games like Call of Cthulhu and Free League’s Blade Runner and Vaesen, for which he’s just finishing a two-year campaign. Away from the table, Mark works in graphic design, balances life as a part-time house husband, enjoys tarot, and finds peace walking in ancient woodlands. In character, he transforms into his alter ego Wēland, a ranger inspired by the  spirit of Robin Hood, mixed with the rough-edged charm of Will Scarlet from the ‘80s classic Robin of Sherwood.

Barry (Silas)

Barry, a working-class lad from Peckham with six years of roleplaying experience, brings an easygoing yet spirited energy to every session. Outside of gaming, he’s a DJ spinning jungle and drum and bass, keeping the vibe lively, whether on or off the decks. Barry splits his time between his love of real ale, carp fishing, and hanging out at his local working men’s club, where he’s a regular at the snooker and pool tables and never shies away from a quick hand of poker. His in-game alter ego, Silas Fletcher, is a cheeky, no-nonsense fighter who also likes a drink, and is not afraid to use his pewter tankard to settle a dispute—only after the last drop has been savoured, naturally.

Jon (Facthunt)

Jon, the veteran amongst us, with 45 years of roleplaying experience, has a soft spot for independent RPGs but also is no stranger to D&D. A fan of darker, complex systems like Werewolf, Shadowrun, and Dragon Warriors, he brings a unique style to every game he joins. Jon’s also a historical enthusiast and nature lover who’s happiest surrounded by trees, or crossing swords in a fencing bout—when his dodgy back allows. Known for his skill in GMing to newbies, he’s the friend everyone calls on to introduce their mates to roleplaying, creating memorable games that spark lifelong love for the hobby. His alter ego, Facthunt the Gray, is a wizard whose knowledge and quirks mirror Jon’s own love of lore and storytelling.

Stephen (Dorian)

Stephen has been hooked on roleplaying for 40 years, since the age of 9, starting back in the early 80's with AD&D and evolving into a seasoned GM across systems like Call of Cthulhu, Blade Runner, D&D, and Dark Heresy. By day, he’s a horticulturalist, though he’d rather be leveling up in a video game, and at the weekend he’s on the pitch playing Sunday League football—keeping his spirits high as a die-hard Charlton Athletic supporter. He’s also a guitarist in the band Alien Code, channeling his alter ego, Dorian Duran, a bard with all the swagger Stephen brings to both the stage and the football field (with better success than Charlton at least).

Dawn (Elspeth)

Dawn is the artist behind RPG Blokes — every piece of artwork, from our logo to our characters, has sprung from her brush (or stylus). Her style has become part of our identity: playful, rich in character, and full of heart. She’s one of those rare creatives who can take a vague idea and return with something better than you even knew you wanted. Away from the sketchpad, Dawn enjoys watching snooker, renovating historic country houses, and quietly observing the world around her — often with a pencil in hand. Her alter ego is Elspeth, a mysterious and enchanting figure — part fair maiden, part elven enchanter — who sees more than she lets on and brings a touch of fae wonder wherever she goes.

Dave Morris

Dave Morris began his career in 1984 with the gamebook Crypt of the Vampire, before teaming up with Oliver Johnson to create Dragon Warriors in 1985. Released as affordable paperbacks in regular bookshops, the game introduced players to Legend — a low-fantasy world of cobwebbed forests, haunted castles, and monsters lurking in the shadows of the night. The full game spanned six books published by Corgi between 1985 and 1986, and ranked in Arcane magazine's top 50 RPGs of all time in 1996. The game was later revived by Magnum Opus Press in 2008 and subsequently picked up by Serpent King Games, keeping Legend very much alive for new generations of players.

Graeme Davis

Graeme Davis is one of the original designers of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, which means he's responsible for a lot of ruined plans and dead characters. He worked at Games Workshop from 1986 to 1990 as co-writer and line editor for WFRP, and his fingerprints are all over the game's most beloved releases. He co-authored Shadows Over Bogenhafen and Death on the Reik in 1987, and was developer on The Enemy Within — the campaign that many still consider the greatest RPG campaign ever written. He's also been part of Cubicle 7's more recent editions of the game, keeping the Old World's misery very much alive and well.

Little Mark (Gilato)

Little Mark is the newest Bloke at the table — and possibly the most qualified. An ex-Marine and working paramedic, he's a man who has genuinely stared danger in the face, and yet his most traumatic experience remains a 98.7% success roll that somehow ended in catastrophic failure. He came to RPGs at 14 in what he calls a sliding doors moment — choosing dice over danger — and it set the course of his life. A diehard WFRP fan who believes you should earn every scrap of XP, he brings Ray Winstone dwarf energy, a deeply suspicious relationship with his dice, and an encyclopaedic knowledge of the best table snacks. Don't let the name fool you.
